Pacquiao Wants Lomachenko But There’s A Problem

Manny Pacquiao is not retired just yet and he has expressed his desire to return to the squared circle to face Vasyl Lomachenko. For those of you who don’t know him, Lomachenko is a four time Olympic gold medalist that just recently made Guillermo Rigondeaux quit. That’s right, he made a top pound for pound fighter quit on his stool. Lomachenko is THAT good.

Pacquiao proved he can still go to war as he went up against Jeff Horn last year but Lomachenko is a different beast altogether. Pacquiao’s legs are not what they once were. He has struggled greatly with cramps in his calf muscles and in result it has slowed him down tremendously. However, even a diminished Manny Pacquiao is still better than a lot fighters out there today.

Whether or not the fight will happen is still up in the air. The biggest hurdle right now is the contractual weight. Manny is known for his reign at welterweight (147 pounds), while Lomachenko recently fought at junior lightweight (130 pounds). I can see Manny making 140 pounds or slightly above but I severely doubt Lomachenko is willing to jump that high in weight to meet him.

Here is to hoping I am wrong, oh what a great fight it would be. Thanks for reading and being a fan of the sweet science.
