Make no mistake about it, this isn’t the same Timothy Bradley or Manny Pacquiao. These are changed fighters.
Manny Pacquiao is coming off a shoulder injury he “re-aggravated” in his fight against Floyd Mayweather. He has been suffering from cramps, as well as issues outside of the ring. From running for Senate in the Philippines, to being dropped by Nike due to his anti-gay remarks, despite all the distractions and injuries Pacquiao is still one of the best fighters out there.
Timothy Bradley has continued to improve and has recently come under the tutelage of Teddy Atlas. In there one fight together the two showed amazing chemistry. Bradley followed everything Atlas said was able to produce a KO victory over Brandon Rios. However, will Atlas be enough to help Bradley get his second win over Pacquiao? Here our some of our teams predictions.
“In Pac/Bradley 3 (AKA The Trilogy Nobody Wanted), many things have changed since the first meeting between these two. Bradley changed trainers, Pac has lost many of his sponsorships and is no longer considered a “good guy” in the sport, and most have changed their mind about who is the better fighter between these two.
I happen to agree with most people who say that Bradley is currently a better fighter than Pacquiao, as I have Bradley ranked higher in my Pound 4 Pound list. Regardless of my rankings, I can’t ignore the fact that these two have fought twice, and styles make fights. Pac’s style is something Bradley has not been able to solve, and until I see something different, my prediction for this fight (and the several additional rematches we might see if Manny continues his trend of fighting the same guys over and over and over) will be the same as the first two fights: Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision.”
“Saturday night is going to go down in history as one of the best fighters in the world, Manny Pacquiao, puts the gloves on for the last time. Even though nothing has been made official all the out of ring distractions show us that retirement is on the mind of Manny Pacquiao. He faces a familiar rival in Timothy Bradley. This will be the third and final meeting between the bitter rivals. I predict another great battle of wills being tested. This time there will be no excuses. Both guys will put it all on the line. In the end, I predict that Manny Pacquiao will be victorious. It is my opinion that Bradley will come in more anxious to engage and trade blows. I believe that will be his downfall and Manny will be able to knock him out in the later rounds.” -Robert Alexander
“Me, myself, I believe that a combination of things will lead to Bradley’s victory this time around. The addition of Atlas in his corner as well as all the issues Pacquiao has had lately makes me side with Bradley. Bradley constantly shows improvement and has shown that he wants to be a student of the game by begging Atlas to take him on.
In no way am I saying this will be a easy win. However, I expect Bradley to stick to boxing and not trying to prove anything like he did last time around. I predict a hard fought split decision victory for Tim Bradley.” -Lucas Biggers
