Froch Silences Doubters and Groves in the 8th

There is something about fights in the UK that get me excited. Maybe it was the massive Wembley stadium or maybe how crazy the fans got, but I had the “boxing butterflies” before Froch-Groves 2 got underway.
Starting out the fight strong, Groves controlled the distance with his jab and followed it up with the right hand over the top. In my eyes Groves clearly won the first 4 rounds out-boxing and out smarting the veteran, Carl Froch.

However, from the 5th round and on it was a different story. For some unknown reason Groves started playing into Froch’s hands, exchanging in the middle of ring. It was evident that Froch’s superior power was taking its toll on Groves. While trying to throw a left hook Groves was countered by a huge straight right hand that sent him to the canvas hard. It appeared that Groves was unconscious and the referee stopped the fight. Yet, as soon as the ref waved it off, Groves jumped up in a prophesying manner, but it was evident that his legs visibly still weren’t under him. This was an incredible fight, and this time it left no doubt who the better man was. This timeCarl Froch made it clear who is the unified super middleweight champ.

After this win and big pay day, Carl Froch’s name is being thrown in with some other big names in boxing, mainly Gennady Golovkin and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Nevertheless, we would like to hear what you the fans want to see. Drop us a line below and tell us who you would like to see Carl Froch face next. Thanks for reading and being a fan of the sweet science.
