J’Leon Love Tests Positive For Banned Substance After Fight With Rosado

Two fighters from the May Day Pay per view card tested positive for a banned substance called diuretics. Rookie, Matthew Garretson and Mayweather’s protege, J’leon Love. The medical dictionary defines diuretics as, “medicines that help reduce the amount of water in the body. Diuretics are used to treat the buildup of excess fluid in the body that occurs with some medical conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver disease, and kidney disease. Some diuretics are also prescribed to treat high blood pressure. These drugs act on the kidneys to increase urine output. This reduces the amount of fluid in the bloodstream, which in turn lowers blood pressure.” In layman terms, the drug helps you cut water weight.

Some people will say,”at least it wasn’t performance enhancing.” They couldn’t be more wrong! Cutting weight is extremely difficult and taxing on the human body. By taking a drug that helps you cut water weight, your body will be less worn down and you will certainly perform better. With that being said, it didn’t help Love that much. While the judges may have given the fight to Love, most if not all viewers, saw Rosado win that fight.

I find it funny how Floyd Mayweather is so high on cleaning up the sport, drug tests all his competitors, yet, his protege gets caught with this. Cheating is cheating! I don’t care what it’s used for. It’s a banned substance for a reason. Mayweather may want to drug test his stable before he demands anymore testing on other fighters. Floyd, lead by example!
